Beedies How to: Make your own home-made lip scrub!!

Hey Guys!

There's nothing more worse than dry lips. It makes your lip look gross and flaky when you apply lip stick. I got the idea of making my own lip scrub when I came across Lush's bubblegum lip scrub. It was then when I thought ... 'what a waste of money'!! all your paying for is pink sugar that smells nice! for £5.50 you only get 25g! Today I am going to be showing how to make your own Lip Scrub.
Its super easy to make and very cheap.
The ingredients are things you should have in your kitchen, if not get up and go to ASDA, you lazy.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 a tablespoon of honey. Honey has been used for its beauty and health benefits, for millions of years, including by Cleopatra who is said to put it in her bath! It has antibacterial properties, reducing Acne, and infections. It also contains vitamin C and B. It can be used as a natural moisturiser because of its water properties which retains water and hydrates the skin.. It retains the skins natural elasticity and decreases winkles. Honey is also an antioxidants which protects the skin from UV, decreasing the chance of skin cancer and premature ageing. WOW I'm blown away.
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar. Sugar is also another natural moisturiser which draws in moister to the skin. sugar is also a source of glycolic acid which gets rid of dead skin cells. Sugar has small particles which exfoliates the skin, removing dead skin cells and creating a natural glow!
  • A couple drops of olive oil. Due to the high level of antioxidants (vitamin A and E), olive oil is a great anti-ageing treatment. Olive oil penetrates deep into the skin which keeps the skin monetised. Olive oil is also a natural barrier which retain moister within the skin.
  • Finally, a couple drops of food colour to add some colour to your lips!

Steps:

Step 1: in a bowl add 1 tablespoon of normal granulated sugar and a couple drops of olive oil and your
chosen flavouring. It should look like yellow crystals.
step 2: add the honey and a little drop of food colouring. I'm using a gel food colouring in hot pink. A little goes a long way, so only add a little amount. I also suggest not to use a green or brown colour, as it will stain your lips, unless that's the look your going for! If it is too wet just add
some more sugar. Then just
mix it all up!

Step 3: put it on your lips and with your finger or a toothbrush, (remember to check that its new and clean!),  then just Scrub, Scrub, Scrub!  This can make a mess.
Store it in an airtight container. I put mine in an old rimmel match perfection container with a white lid
to stop air getting in.

before and after!
mmmmm..  Try not to eat it up! Its a great Lip scrub and I could definitely see a difference after scrubbing. It made my lips plump and pink! I definitely recommend it.
BE WARNED. ITS SUGARY!

love beauty. love makeup. love life
